All About Lone Pine Aussies
|
Our family (husband, Eric; myself, Kelli; son, Calvin; daughter, Katie)
lives on a small farm in the northwest part of MN near Clearbrook, and,
yes, it gets cold here. We own 160 acres consisting of woods, pasture
and hay land, with the Clearwater River, which, interestingly, flows
north, running through a corner of our property.
We couldn't have asked for a better area to raise kids, horses and, of
course, Aussies.
Husband, Eric, has retired from farrier work and now trains horses to
drive.
To fill the void left by the passing of the two best friends a girl could
ever have (dogs, Peaches and Mini), I began the quest for a new
companion. The dog had to be athletic enough to go on trail rides with
us, friendly, happy and pretty. I fell in love with the Australian
Shepherd but felt they were too big. When I discovered the Mini
Aussie, I was hooked. After researching Mini Aussies on line, I knew
that I wanted a blue merle female with a full white collar and was lucky
enough to find one, Annie, just a few miles from where we live.
As they say about the Mini Aussies, “you can't have just one”. Our
puppies are whelped in the house and live there as part of our family.
Adults dogs are taken for daily walks on the farm for socialization and
exercise. We have also joined Paul Bunyan Dog Training Association
which offers classes in conformation, obedience, agility, fly ball and
tracking, as well as the opportunity to socialize and talk dogs.
Check out the Puppies For Sale and Our Girls pages for current and
future litters. If you are interested in a puppy of your own, have
questions about Aussies, or just want to talk dogs, get in touch with us.
Thank you for visiting Lone Pine Aussies.
